Presentation and discussion of a development project proposed for the intersection of 23rd Avenue S., Rainier Ave. S., and S. Hill St. (2042 Rainier Ave. S.) The proposal by developer Nitze-Stagen and architect Hybrid is for a seven-story mixed-used building with about 200 apartments and ground floor commercial space on 23rd Avenue. Parking for 40 to 50 cars is proposed. The site is designated in the Central Area Design Guidelines as a “Central Gateway site” deserving special consideration. In the developer’s community outreach material, questions for community input include questions about desired retail and art associated with the project. Monday’s meeting is a chance for the public to address those questions and more about the proposed project.
